Class Information
Tiny Tigers
Our Tiny Tigers class is designed for children ages 3 to 4 years old’s! Children will be able to gain the essentials of martial arts including kicking, punching, blocking, and self-defense. This class also focuses on fundamental life skills including listening skills, respect, discipline, and basic motor functions. Children will be able to attain goals of different belt rankings as well as making new friends! By fusing developmentally appropriate child principles with martial arts, children are able to engage in an activity that will both interest and benefit them in their lifetime.
Little Dragons
Our Little Dragon class is designed for 5 to 6 year old’s! This class is a bridge between our Tiny Tigers and our Gups. They are expected to have better focus and listening skills that we will then expand on to help these skills grow and flourish. This class will focus more on the martial arts but still be able to incorporate fun activities that children will enjoy. Other fundamentals that we will focus on include understanding of body movements, social awareness, balance, and team building exercises. Children will be able to obtain different belt rankings creating personal goals for them to work towards.
Gups
Our Gup class is designed for anyone ages 7 and up! All ages are encouraged to participate in martial arts to gain life skills and martial arts knowledge. We also highly recommend that families join together as it is a great way to bond and have fun at the same time. Martial arts basics will include punching, blocking, kicking, forms, weapons and self defense. A big idea taught to students is the idea of opposing but complementary forces in everyday life. We reinforce this idea by having students not only learn the physical part of karate but also learn the background of Tang Soo Do. This includes studying history, philosophy, terminology and application. Students will also learn the three purposes of Tang Soo Do training: self-defense, health, and becoming a better person.
